What I collect and why

When you call or message me: your name, phone number, and anything you tell me about the job (such as your address or postcode). I use this to respond to your enquiry, quote for and carry out work, and keep basic records of completed jobs for warranty purposes.

When you use the contact form: the form collects your name, phone number, postcode and message. Submissions are processed by Netlify (the platform that hosts this website) and forwarded to my email so I can reply.

When you browse this site: the site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Basic technical logs (such as IP addresses) may be processed by the hosting platform to serve and secure the website.

Legal basis

I process your details under legitimate interest (responding to your enquiry and carrying out work you have asked for) and, where we agree work, under contract. Records needed for tax purposes are kept under legal obligation.

Who your data is shared with

Nobody, beyond the services that make the website and my business run: website hosting (Netlify), email, and my accountant where invoices require it. I never sell or rent your details, and I do not send marketing.

How long I keep it

Enquiry messages that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Job records are kept for the length of the warranty on the work plus the period required for tax records.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it (unless I am legally required to keep it). Email richard@imalocksmith.co.uk or call 07591 021444 and I will sort it.

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
